Marvel at the massive hull of the CSS Jackson, the largest surviving Confederate naval ship. The hull is about 180 feet in length and can be seen around the outside of the museum. A rowboat from the USS Hartford and a few pieces of the CSS Chattahoochee are also on display.
See the Brooke rifle cannons on display as well. These distinct cannons were made in Alabama and feature slim bodies that can support quick firing functions.
Walk along the full-size replica of the USS Water Witch, a Union ship that was captured by the Confederacy. Noted for being one of the few ships that served on both sides of the war, this nearly 160-foot ship was fully reconstructed to her original dimensions and specifics and is a major highlight of the museum in Columbus, Georgia.
