Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area
Bring a boat out along the water to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area while in the Atlanta area. Specifically located around Sandy Springs, GA and other parts of the Atlanta region, the area is nearly 50 miles long and is based along one of the most important rivers in the state of Georgia.
Enjoy a fishing trip along the river to see what you can catch or simply enjoy a walk along one of the riverside paths all around the region. A few camping sites are available as well as you can enjoy a good night out with nature while out in the park.
Travel along one of the bridges located around the region in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The Settles, Jones, Holcomb, Abbots and Medlock bridges are among the many that you will come across as you sail or paddle your way along the river.
Head into the Roswell Mill Ruins while at the recreation area around the City of Sandy Springs. The covered bridge that leads to the ruins is right along the Vickery Creek region of the park space. The original mill building is a beautiful space that once processed cotton that was farmed in the region and is the only remaining original property in the area.
