Arboretum of the University of Central Florida
Travel to the northern end of Alafaya, FL to see the Arboretum of the University of Central Florida. This 80-acre park is home to more than 600 different types of plants.
See the many bromeliads on display at the arboretum. There are nearly a hundred different bromeliads here. These flowering plants are known to produce beautiful flowers. Some of them also produce fruits including the pineapple.
Head out on the walking trails around this part of the City of Alafaya. There are nearly three miles of walking paths around the arboretum. These should get you closer to many of the beautiful plants and trees that make this area of Alafaya, Florida famous.
Look for the massive Cypress dome around the eastern end of the arboretum. You will find a number of unique Florida-based plants in the region. These include plants that are capable of handling the state’s distinct climate.
Come out here at any time of the year. The arboretum is open 365 days a year. You can bring your dog out here for a walk too although your dog must be kept on a leash that is six feet in length at the most. Don’t forget to check out the tours here.
